Teaching Assistant for Early Years/Kindergarten (Temporary position)
Aarhus International School (AIS) is seeking a teaching assistant (TA) as of 15 November 2026, to support the homeroom teacher responsible for the daily instruction of students, ages 3-6. The TA’s responsibility is to carry out clerical activities such as preparing classroom materials, supervising students, creating and maintaining learning environments and performing other activities as may be delegated by the homeroom teacher. Such activities may include but are not limited to working independently with a student or groups of students while assisting them in meeting the goals of the lesson as well as participating personally in activities in which the students are involved. Candidates with knowledge of and/or experience in the IB PYP programme will be given priority. Preference will also be given to applicants who have or can obtain a legal residence in Denmark.
The profile of a successful TA is someone who can assist the teacher to ensure a warm, safe, encouraging, patient and inclusive inspirational setting for students in which child centred decisions are supported. By listening to student needs, responding with interest and care and by including them in decision making, the goal of raising independent and engaged learners in accordance with the IB Learner Profile can be realized.
Minimum requirements:
- Experience working with students ages 3-6 years
- Education suitable for the position of a teaching assistant
- Strong and effective collaboration skills
- Proficiency in English as a home/native language

The position is temporary with employment ending 30th of June 2027 and full time (37 hours per week). Salary is in accordance with the agreement between BUPL and the Danish Private Schools Association.
